The Clinical Standards and Information Division supports a variety of standards for use within the NL health system. In many cases, facilities collect data in accordance to these standards and submit records to national databases maintained by the Canadian Institute for Health Information. CIHI provides a copy of the NL records to the province for local use.
Staff offer consultation, education, analysis and interpretation services to stakeholders to assist them in adopting and using standardized health information.
